I can't find the original post I had on this, but thought I would pass on
some learning I've had recently getting a PowerPoint page inserted into a FP
page, set up an autothumb and NOT having the resultant picture all distorted.
I can't explain what the internal workings are, but I learned the lesson NOT
to use FP to create an autothumb for the inserted pictures. The key is to
have the image edited for size BEFORE inserting it into FP. If a thumb is
desired, two images should be stored with two different sizes.
Here's the technique I'm using which is producing high quality results:
I save the one-page PowerPoint as a jpg file. I then change the image size
with either PhotoShop Elements of irfanview to the final size I want and save
the image. This is done twice if I want one of them to be a hyperlink. I
then insert the picture where I want it in FrontPage and everything looks
great.
For some reason, when the jpg is inserted into FP and an autothumb created,
the result is a poor image quality when the thumb is pressed.
