inserting shockwave flash object

Jackie C

I am using windows xp and ppt 2007. I am trying to insert a flash animation
with a .swf extension on a slide. I have followed the instructions given in
ppt but when I go to the Developer tab click more controls click shockwave
flash object, click OK and try to drag on the slide to draw the control I get
a blank box with an X thru it.
I have the most current version of flash player installed and also allowed
Active X.

Has anyone experienced this problem before?

So far you haven't experienced a problem. That's the normal/expected behavior.

Not sure exactly which instrux you followed, but apparently they're not
complete. Must be PPT's help. ,-)

Have a look here instead:

Basically, you need to rightclick the box with the X and choose Properties.
That's where you can fill in the rest of the details you need.

By the way, this is the MAC PowerPoint group. You really want to be posting
this kind of question in the Windows group.
