Inserting tables

I am puzzled by the performance of the insert table icon
from the toolbar. Clicking the insert table icon used to
open a graphic of the table that you could drag to the
desired number of rows and columns. Now it opens to a
dialog box where you fill in numbers. Would like to
revert to the former response but don't know how to get
there. Thanks

If this is Word 2002, you can, I believe, get this button back by selecting
Insert Table... in the list you get when you click the arrow at the end of
the Toolbar, then choose Add or Remove Buttons | Standard. If this doesn't
work, open Tools | Customize, select the Commands tab, find the
TableInsertGeneral command in the All Commands category, and drag that to
the toolbar.
