Inserting WAV file into document

On my work laptop using Office 2007, I can record and insert a WAV file
directly into the Word document. However, my personal computer will not
allow it. I have to record and then manually insert the WAV file into the
document. Is there an add-in I'm missing on my personal computer? It
appears to be the same version on both computers, so why the difference and
what can I do to be able to record and insert directly on my personal
computer?
