Insertions

Hello, I'd like to know how to create shortcuts in order to get, in
Word 2004 MAC edition a direct link from "r" to "revolution" for
example. The only way to create those insertions seems to be to write
at least four or five letters of the word and than to chose in a list.
But I'd like to have somethink like I had on PC: type "fr" + F3, and
the computer writes "french revolution". Could anybody tell me how to
do this on MAC, please?
Thank you very much.

Hi lajana,

Okay, you were using AutoText. In MacWord, instead of F3, you would hit
cmd-opt-v to trigger the AutoText immediately, assuming the AutoText is
already set up on the Mac.

Alternatively, you can go into Tools | Customize Keyboard. Select All
Commands in the left panel, tab, type i-n-s to jump the list on the right to
the "insert..." range of entries, select InsertAutoText in the right panel,
and assign F3, if you like. (F3 is assigned to EditCopy by default, but you
can override that if you want).

However, for simple phrases, using AutoCorrect might be even easier. You
can add your own AutoCorrect entries via Tools | AutoCorrect. "Fr" can be
set to autocorrect to French revolution as soon as you hit the space or
following punctuation.
