Install FP2003 via original FP98 full version and FP2000 upgrade

I am trying to install a FP2000 upgrade so I can upgrade to FP2000 (on a new
computer). When it asks for the qualifying product, I put in the FP98 full
version disk, the Windows XP "product compliance" dialog box just times out.
I would install FP98 and apply both upgrades but I have lost its cd key.

Thanks for any help I can get.

If FP2003 is an upgrade version, then you do not need to install any prior version, just insert the
FP2000 CD when prompted for the location of the qualifying product.

I tried that. The product compliance times out and gives me an error message.
I thought it was because the FP2000 disk is also an upgrade, so I tried
installing FP2000, hoping to use the FP98 full version disk as the location
for the qualifying product. Timed out again. I tried to install FP98 but I
have lost the cd key.

What is the error message?

You may need to call MS Product Support.

It asked for a Microsoft Office (not FP) cd, and I found one finally that
worked. It asked for 97, 2000 or XP. It would not accept Office XP so I found
an old Office 2000 disk that worked. This is the first time I have seen this.
I guess it's something new with Windows XP.

Thanks for your help.

strange it is asking for the MS Office disk, when you're upgrading
Frontpage....since Frontpage was never included in Office (except Office
2000 premium a few years ago I thnk) but generally FP is not sold as part of
the MS Office Suite itself although of course is is part of the "MS Office
*family*" of products.
