install full version over full version

Can anyone tell me if there would be a problem installing Office XP Pro
(full version, not upgrade) over Office 97. Or do I need to buy the upgrade
version of Office XP?

Hi Chris,

The Full package Office XP and the Office XP matching
edition upgrade are the same product, except that the
upgrade is less expensive and will always look for
an Office 97 or Office 2000 CD when being installed
if the install is not there.

Both the full package product and the upgrade package
product will let you remove or retain all or parts of
a prior edition during setup if you choose the 'custom
install choice.

there should be no problem upgrading with the full
version. if you want to keep OFF97 you must install OFFXP
into a different folder.
