Install has failed repeatedly on 3 updates.

I cannot seem to install 3 (new) downloaded updates.

Security Update for Excel 2003
Security Update for Outlook 2003
Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter

I tried re downloading several times- but each time the update fails to
install for these 3 updates.

All other updates were successfully installed.

Any help will be appreciated.

Do the following. Post back with result. Worked for most people with same issue

1st Rename Office subkeys

Note: Removing the following registry keys may reset customized user
settings for your Microsoft Office programs.

1. Close all the applications.
2. Click on Start->Run, type in REGEDIT and click on OK.
3. Locate and select the following registry subkeys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0

4. Right click on 11.0 and rename them to Old11.
5. Close the Registry Editor.


2nd. Detect and Repair Office 2003

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Change/Remove Programs on the left pane.
4. Highlight Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 on the right pane
and click Change.
5. Insert the correct version of CD when it requires.
6. Select "Reinstall and Repair" and click Next.
7. Select "Detect and Repair errors in my Office installation".
8. Click Install and wait the process to end.


3rd. Install the Update

product ID number!! Have it handy.

I beleive this happened after I used RegCure to clean my registry.

Do you think this will keep on happening if I use this or any other registry
cleaning program?

This did not work for for these updates:

Microsoft Office 2007

Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB946691)
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB949037)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Visio 2007 (KB947590)

and I have also applied the following:
regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll
regsvr32 /s wups2.dll
regsvr32 /s wups.dll
regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll

in a bat/cmd file

still with no results...
This is happening across many machines in my network, my home machine, my
laptop... etc... quite frustrating to see the yellow shield still left over
after a tuesday update! HELP!!!

Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB949037)
Security Update for Microsoft Office Visio 2007 (KB947590)

Ever tried to manually download them and install them each after the other?

If this doesn't work, create a verbose log file and check why setup failes.

How should I create a 'verbose log' with hijack? thanks for the assist...

BTW, downloading the individual files and installing them separately has not
worked.
