Install MAPI on Lotus Notes 5 client based system

I want to install the required MAPI driver on my system which is currently
supporting Lotus Notes client 5.1. How can I get the email notification to
work. Can I update Lotus Notes calendar from MS Project 2003. I want to use
the scheduling features in Lotues Notes. Or do I have to upgrade to Project
Server for scheduled email notifications and collaboration?
