Install New Excel

I am presently using "Microsoft Office Professional
Version 7.0a, for Bookshelf 1995 Edition." I am using it
with Windows 98SE on a 933Mhz system. I presently have
little use for all of the programs in the Office suite
(except WORD) but would like to upgrade the Excel program
to a newer version. Can this be done OK? Will the new
Excel integrate with the Office suite or will it be a
standalone program? Thank you.
