Install not finishing/proofing tools not installed

When I went to use the installer, it failed to complete several times (no
error, messages, it just quits after hitting "finish" button). As a result,
not everything installed correctly. I cannot currently use spell-checking
because the proofing tools are not installed. After trying a custom instal
to have them, the installer just quits. What do I need to do to get this to
install correctly? Thanks!

OS: 10.3.9
Office version: 2004

Are you sure there are no proofing tools installed in applications/ms office
2004/shared applications/proofing tools?

"quits after hitting finish button" sounds like normal behavior to me,
though I don't remember the 2004 installer that clearly. I wonder whether
your difficulties might have a different problem.

Yes, because Word still tells me that there are no proofing tools installed.

I'd agree, but when I did the install that way (twice at least), there was
no Office 2004 installed. So I dragged the folder to my Mac to install and
I thought everything was OK, but apparently not.

Try a Remove and Reinstall, I suppose. Haven't a clue, really.
