Install of KB908002 for "all users" fails

Hi, we are building an Excel 2003 Shared COM add-in using VS2005 C#. We are
able to install it for the "just me" case, and our add-in loads (yeah, we
sufferred too!). We found that the redistributables in the KB908002 package
do not allow configuration for the "all users" case, and our add-in will only
work for the user who installed it. We are building our installer using Wise,
I think.

My CM person says we cannot just flip the switch on the .msi's and
redistribute them (not legally anyway ;). Has anyone else run into this? Is
there another microsoft download that will fix it?
thanks!

I'm having the same problem. Currently we're looking into amending users
logon scripts to run the KB908002 msi if it has not been installed - clearly
this is not an ideal solution and I would also like to know if there's a more
"official" alternative.

Thanks RayP, I'm glad to hear we are not alone. Hopefully someone from MSFT
will respond.

The old KB 908002 bootstrapper is broken. It took us 2 months using an MSDN
incident report to lead Microsoft through the fact that it is broken and then
to get a working version (god that was apainful).

This was a couple of months ago and at that time they said they would
release the working version to everyone. I am guessing it is not out yet. So
you may need to contact Microsoft to get it.

Hi David,
Thank you very much for your reply!
I guess I will have to spend a support incident to get the fix. Ah well, I
was trying to get by on the cheep, but no such luck.
thanks again,

I'm running into the same issue. Does anyone have an update on this?

Is there a way to remove the need to install KB908002 like using VSTO SE?
