Install of Office 2003 after 2000

Hello,

My goal is to have Office 2003 STE installed along with Access 2000. I have
full licenses and CDs for both Office 2000 Pro and Office 2003 STE and I will
first be formatting my hard drive and reinstalling Win XP Pro. I have found
by trial and error that I should install Access 2000 first and then move on
to installing Office 2003 STE. My question is: Is it best to do the full
install of Office 2000 instead of only Access 2000 prior to installing Office
2003 STE? And how about the updates and patches for Office 2000? Are they
neccessary to have installed?
