Install office 2003 via group policy

I wish to install Office 2003 pro via group policy in the windows 2003
domain onto windows xp clients. My issue is that the office xp
installations are not managed by any group policy. They were all installed
from a network share (files copied from the cd to folder on the server).
When I set the group policy to install office on a PC with office xp, it
starts the installation process but then hangs. How can a uninstall office
xp without having to manually do it?
