install office 2003

just purchased new gateway laptop and after uninstalling trial of office 2007
i tried to install office 2003, but at install startup i get error window
that says the file SETUPPRO.INI is not accessible. In looking at the cd on
the vista machine the SETUP directory has zero file; but when i look at the
cd on an xp machine all of the files in the setup directory appear .... help
!!

Tried browsing the cd (on Vista PC) and double clocking the setup.exe file?

i tried to browse the cd in the vista machine and the "setup" directory is empty; when i browse the cd in an XP machine the "setup" directory files appear. could there be some resedue from the trial office 2007 that is causing the issue?

Found the problem ... corrupt CD. I was using a copy of the original
install cd, went back to the original cd and everything worked good ....
