Hello All,
I purchased the Office 2007 Enterprise from my employer and I have a Dell
XPS 400
with xp pro sp2 & office 2003 Basic oem from Dell. Can I Install the 07
right over the 03 ? If I have to uninstall 03 will i lose all my settings and
contacts & what not.
If I export some 03 stuff to .csv files from 03 will 07 accept them ok?
thanx for any info.

I didn't think employers could "sell" volume licensed only software to their
employees.

Hi Shep,

Use the 'custom' installation choice when you run Office 2007 setup. That will let you choose which, if any, Office 2003 apps you
want to keep installed. It can be helpful to run a repair of Office 2003 (from the Word help menu for example) first then restart
the PC to be sure Office 2003 is intact. If the installation has become damaged (may not be visually obvious) that can interfere
with the newer version being able to remove the older version.

While Office 2003 basic edition cannot be moved to another computer (it's tied to the machine where first activated) you may need to
reuse it at some point on that PC or if you sell that PC, choose to include that edition with that PC, so be sure you have the CDs
stored safely for it.

As with any software upgrade or PC reconfiguration, backup your files first for safety.
