Install Office 97 on Win 98 Problem

J

John Latta

I tried to install Office 97 on a Win 98 PC. When I install to the C:
drive and try to run the program, I get an error message, "Not enough
memory or hard drive space to run the program." This PC has 256MB RAM
and 8.8 GB free on the hard drive.
To get it to run, I had to uninstall and reinstall. using the option
to run the programs from the CD-ROM drive?

Any suggestions as to what I can do to resolve this?

Hi, John,

Yeah, 8 GB should be plenty...<g>

So, your installation was successful, but you cannot launch a program?

Is your temp directory pretty full? You might try cleaning it out and
re-running setup. Also might not be a bad idea to do a scandisk and defrag
prior to install.
