Install Office 97

lottsmoore

I had to do a recovery on my XP operating system. I am trying to reinstall my
Office 97 but I keep getting an error I can't seem to bypass which is:
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt.
The system file is not suitable for running Ms-DOS and microsoft windows
applications. Choose close to terminate the application.
It was previously installed on my computer before the recovery.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Did you install SP2 before installing Office 97? If so remove SP2
install Office then reapply SP2

Also I've recently seen a viral infection that deleted the autoexec.nt
file, check if its missing and if so recreate it
