Install Office Assistant

danh

I have lost my Office Assistant and get a message each time I use WOrd, Excel
etc

The message is
There are no Office assistant character files present on the system. Please
run Setup in maintenance mode and intall at least character.

I don't know how to do this. Can somebody help me?

Thanks
Danielle

Why would you want the Office Assistant anyways. It is the most annoying
tool that microsoft implemented with their software. Everytime i install any
version of office i will do a custom install and everything is set to "run
from my computer" with office assistant "not installed"

Your opinion.

Personally, I enjoy having Rocky the little pooch sitting on my
desktop. I like dogs and have to spend long hours staring at my
screen. Occasionally my eyes will catch Rocky wagging his tail or
snoozing in the corner...and it makes me smile.

If you find them annoying...don't install them. I find them a fun
diversion, so Rocky and Links have not only become vital installs for
me (which I miss in 2007), but they've also become my "Vanna White" as
illustrators for many of my tech articles.

Nothing wrong with having a little silly fun when you can get away
with it. ;-)

Hi E~

With Windows XP you can still use Rocky as one of the characters in Start=>Search to be able to keep them around :)

Cool...thanks, Bucky! I'll have to experiment. I figured the Agents
were all I had left and I don't believe I remember a dog in the agent
characters. I tried Peddy, but he's a more annoying parrot than
mom's!<eg>
