Install Office - Embedded

Hi,

I would like to install Office 2003 on a Windows XP Embedded client, with
minimal space on the system disk. However, there is a second disk, a
harddrive with more than enough space. I tried to install on that second
disk, but is seems that there is a lot of space needed on the system disk
also. So setup stops with an error 'there is not enough space on c disk'.

Is there a solution to install office with minimal use of the system disk?

Sounds like the creation of the MSOCache folder is stopping the installation
process. You can control which local (fixed) drive this folder is created
on. The link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830168 kinda talks about it
(search LOCALCACHEDRIVE).

Other than that, you need about 1.5GB free disk space for the install and
then at the end of the install, you can chose to have the installation files
(MSOCache) folder deleted.

You may want to contact the provider of the XP Embedded OS system to find
out if it can even be installed. I suspect that the system you are using is
a proprietary system like a display screen and it may not be possible to
install the way you want to do. Otherwise post back here the make and model
of the equipment and the version of the OS with SP that is embedded and we
will try to help as much as we can.
