Install order? Office 2000 + Win98

I saw the answer to this in the KB a while ago but can no longer locate it.

what is the recommended install order for:
Win98, IE, Office 2000, and the adding of patches (SPs)--I also need the
same info for Win2000 OS.

e.g.:

Install Win98 + all patches, install IE6 + patches, then install Office 2000
+ patches? or another way?

I read somewhere that if you do the order incorrectly, important files will
be overwritten by one or the other programs. maybe that has changed now and
any order is fine?
