Install Questions Mostly About Service Accounts

Gary and Dale produced a great book on installation and configuration of MSP
Server 2007. I am trying to use it and the MS documentation to perform an
install on 3 servers (WFE, App, SQL) and have questions I hope you can help
me.

1. Using the SharePoint config wizard, when you specify the configuration
database settings> Specify Database Access Account: Figure 4-20 (pg 112)
shows 4 accounts but none of those match the user name in Figure 4-40 (pg
126). This is the Windows Sharepoint Services Service Account that the MS
Install documentation references right?

2. The MS documentation and the book speak of 6 service accounts but none of
them are directly called Farm Admin. Is the Farm Admin the ProjServer
Instance Admin referenced in the book and MS Documentation on Service
Accounts?

3. WSS Search: on a 3 box installation (WFE, App, SQL), which box runs the
search service? Does the WSS Search account need to have a certain role or
permissions on any of the boxes and is that configured manually?

4. When creating the web app to host the SSP, is the AppPool service account
automatically added to some security groups?

5. Farm Admin: should I be logged in as the Farm Admin rather than myself
for the installation? If so, the Farm Admin should be full admin on the
servers?

6. When creating the site collection why use the WSS Service account versus
my user account?

I know I overshot my allotment of questions.I hope these are simple to
answer. I appreciate your help.

Many thanks. I am going to do that then.

Jim:

IMO, for the sake of manageability, it is easier to use one or two service
accounts. Using one account for everything makes this really easy to manage.
