My upgrade version says that eligable products include Microsoft Works
6.0-10. I just bought a computer and I installed Microsoft Works 9
(provided
by Dell) and in trying to install Office 2007 it tells me I have an
eneligable product. Can anyone suggest a solution to this? Many thanks!

See Microsoft's KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943290/en-us for

Hi Rich,

There's a bug in Works 9 in some installations that keep it from being recognized. This article has an update that should help
solve that for you.

I also recently purchase a computer with Works 9.0 on it and can no
install the upgrade to Office Small Business 2007. I tried to fix th
error with the Works 9.0 download but do not have a disk for the .ms
file. Am I missing something because the Office product states th
upgrade is compatible with Works as long as I use the download whic
will not download to my computer.

Hi Sharon,

You didn't mention the name of the .MSI filebut as a guess, it would be part of the original installation CD/image for Works.

There may have been some corruption in the MS Works installation. That can sometimes occur from using registry/cleanup utilities on
the computer. Some computers include a compressed version of the software provided and a provision to create your own backup CDs to
be used to install. Check with the computer supplier to see if that's the case.

I know this question doesn't apply to what has been happening in this post,
yet I am desperate... I am trying to upgrade from an earlier version of
office to MS Office 2007. The 'new' Dell system (less than 1 year old) is
crashing the installation with the an event number 11708, found in the Event
Viewer. I have researched everywhere for a fix! I have updated the iWindows
installer to version 3.1.400.4039, stopped all services and startup services
in mscofig. Nothing is working! :( Anyone care to help?
