Install Visio remove trial will not let me

I installed Visio trial version, then later received a licensed copy from my
employer, tried to activate using the new key, did not work, tried to remove
the trial version and then install the copy from work, it keeps showing it up
as a trial copy and will not let me install as a legit copy?

The 25-digit product key is what distinguishes if it's a purchased license
or trial, not the CD so my guess is that you installed with the trial
product key. Did you convert from the trial using the new purchased license
key? You should be able to under the Control Panel under Add/Remove
Programs or Programs and Features in Vista, by selecting Microsoft Office
Visio Standard/Professional 2007 Trial, clicking Change, and choosing the
convert option at the bottom.

Note: To convert from trial to purchased key, the editions (Standard or
Professional) of the trial and purchased need to match. So if you have the
Standard edition of the trial but want to convert to the purchased
Professional edition, you'll need to uninstall the trial and re-install
Professional. Same if you have Professional trial, and purchased Standard.
