installation difficulties with Windows ME/Dell computer

I just bought a new HP 4155 handheld and the first step in
setting it up is installation of the Outlook 2002 on the
desktop. When I try to do this I run into the following
error message:

Error 1402, Setup cannot open the registry key
HKEY_CURRENTUSER\SOFTWARE|microsoft\windows
NT\CurrentVersions\Extentions. Verify that you hve
sufficient permissions to access the registry or contact
your computer manufactures product support for assistance.

Does anyone know how to open this registry key so the
program will install? I'm hot to use the new handheld!
