Installation Error

I am upgrading office 97 to office xp. My operating system
is windows 98SE. After I insert the CD Installation
begins, runs the systems file upgrade etc. then it askes
me to reboot to continue installation. I reboot. A little
window appears saying it was continuing to install. Then
an error message appeares that states the following.

Error 25506. Microsoft Office XP requires updated system
files not detected on your computer. You must install the
system files update prior to installing office.
C:\window\system\ASYCFilt. DLL is version 2.40.4275.1 when
we require version 2.40.4277.1
