Installation failson 'Setup has stopped working'

Today I installed Norton Internet Security Beta for Vista.
When it ran a virus scan, I noticed that all office files had been
'blocked'. They could no longer be opened, saying that an anti virus program
had blocked them. I thought uninstalling & reinstalling Office 2007 B2 TR
might resolve it.

After uninstalling, I could not reinstall. 'MS Offive Prof.. Plus (Beta)
Setup has stopped working .....'

I uninstalled Norton Internet Security. Still the same problem, cannot
install Office 2007.

Pleas advise.

Peter, I am also having the same problem..
All my word files are blocked.. and I cannot open them and any new
document in Word 2007 I can save but cannot open it afterwards.. someone
needs to reply to assist..

I found some posts dealing with Norton blocking Office files, but none
regarding Office 2007.

Since I had uninstalled Office 2007, intending to rteinstall it, apparently
a big ho-no,
my solution was to reformat & reinstall fronm scratch. Tried Norton again,
same problem. Uninstalled Norton & reinstalled PC-cillin, which works fine.

In yur case I suggest: either try to get a solution from Symantec or drop
Norton AV Beta.
