Installation- Julie S et all

Hello all
I am a student in Paris, and am working on an Integration Project. I am
responsible for installing/configuring Project Server 2003.
Its a C/S model where clients are all student developers having access to
same Project file to carry out tests (macros, functionality developed for
Project Prof... using VBA). We have a Win2003 server allocated for this test
environment, in which I have to install all the pre-requisits for installing
Project Server (like SQL Server etc.). I have tried installing/configuring
this installation using MSP Installation Guides (Single computer,
Small-Scale). We are not in domain neither we intend to use one due to school
IT Admin policy. As following the installation guide, (which I tried 3ice and
I am not able to find the problem area and have already started blaming that
there might be a problem with the Microsoft product !!) following are the
repeatative problems:

1. SQL Server is not getting connected, once it did but was not found by
Windows share point services (tried every permutation & combination) have
installed SQL Server 2000 SP3
Note: I wish to use same user name (Administrator) for Windows, SQL server,
and Project Server for ease of use.
2. Not able to configure Project Server.
3. Not able to figure out why use Project Server if PMs use Project
Professional to carry out their PM needs.
4. Do we really need Project Server to test our development products for
adding functionality to Project Professional?

Can anybody please help me solve these problems of which I am clueless !!

Kind regards,
Pranay
