Installation of MS Word 2002

Can someone give me advice on upgrading from an Office suite containing Word
and Excel 2000 to the MS Office XP edition with Word 2002 etc. My operating
system is Windows XP Home edition. Should I delete the old 2000 versions of
the software appications before the new installation, or not please?

There shouldn't be any need to uninstall the previous versions, but you
certainly may.

If you haven't already purchased your Office XP and plan to purchase the
"upgrade" version as opposed to the full version, ensure that your Office
2000 suite is one that is eligible for upgrade, since certain versions were
not.
