Installation of office XP

P

Pauline

I tried to install XP and got the backweb is running
message. I opted to complete installation anyway.
Installation was going well, then it said it had to shut
down to configure settings. Now my computer will not
completly turn on. I can't even get to the desk top to try
and stop the backweb. Please help. I was just given this
computer and I'm afraid I broke it.
Thanks!
Pauline

Well it's a Windows problem at first then; booting up your computer.
Are you able to boot it in Safe Mode? Press F8 right after your computer
finished initializing.
When you are in Safe Mode goto Control Panel-> Add/Remove programs and
uninstall backweb and Office XP.
See if you can boot now. If so; install Office XP first so you won't have to
shut down the backweb service when you are installing Office XP
