I am trying to reinstall my Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. I have used
msicuu2.exe to cleanup the registry so that I could uninstall it and then
reinstall it. Now, however, just before it is ready to complete, I get a
message saying "Installer Terminated Prematurely" and I think it had an OK
button. When I pressed the button (whatever it said), I received a message
that said, "The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread
exit or an application request."
Does anyone know what this means? What do I do?
I guess I should also state that I am running an old Pentium I computer
with only 133 mHz processing speed, 16 MB RAM, and I am running
Windows 98, and I have just scanned it using the McAffee Virus Scanner
and it has reported that I do not have any viruses on my C drive.
