Following a bad sector problem in my old HD, I elected to have the HD replaced
and had to reload Office. However, something must have happened during the
reload process because now whenever I start Word (click on the Microsoft Toolbar
Word icon), Word starts but I'm immediately hit with a Windows Installer window
that switches to another window that says "Configuring Office 2000
Professional". About 10 seconds later, it is followed with a "Office Assistant"
window saying "There was a problem starting the Office Assistant. Would you like
to try reinstalling it?" If I click "No", it then opens a blank Document 1 page
normally. I have tried reinstalling OA at the prompt by inserting the CD, but it
doesn't work. Also if I try to open any *.doc file, it will not open the file
directly but gives me the same process as above.
If I open Excel, I don't get the configuring window, but about 10 seconds later,
I do get the OA window.
Any suggestions, please?
