Installation PROBLEM

This is an update problem but no update newsgroup was
available so I hope SOMEONE out there can HELP.

My wife uses Microsoft Office 2000 Professional (2 CDs).

We are NEVER successful trying to update it.

The installation of successfully downloaded updates
ALWAYS ends with "Installation Was Unsuccessful" despite
fact that NO error messages ever pop up.

We have legitimate Office 2000 CDs via her school
district and always insert the the proper Office CD, #1
of 2, when prompted during the "installation" process.
STUMPED. HELP PLEASE - going nuts. Thanks, John D.

take off the cd, wipe it down clean with a damp cloth from the outer
perimeter straight toward the epicenter working your way around in
rectangular blocks. Then try the update again. This is a common problem with
the office update.

If this doesn't work, you will definitely need to click on this link
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];oasoem and submit a
bug report. Your are entitled to three free reports before you begin
incurring charges. A microsoft professional will walk you thru what needs to
be done.
