Hi,
We deploy Project as a published application through group policy. We are
experiencing a problem with one of our users. They have Project installed and
we had to rebuild their user profile to fix another problem. Once this had
been done we were unable to open Project. When looking on add remove programs
Project is not listed under "change or remove programs", but is listed under
"Add new programs" and the add button is available. When we try to install
project using the Add button the message "Cannot install as there is an
existing installation" pops up. We can't remove Project because it doesn't
appear on the "change or remove programs" area.
Basically we want to remove Project entirely and perform a clean
installation, but we can't beacuse it detects an existing installation. We
have tried installing it manually from the CD image on the network, but get
the same error.
There is obviously a registry key or something which is telling the computer
it is installed. Does anyone know what we can change in the registry or files
we can change which will force an install that overrides the files which are
already there?
