Installation probs with Office 2000

Hi

I have windows xp professional on my pc and am trying to
install office 2000. I had it all working fine until I
had to reformat my pc. Now I cannot install office 2000.
Half way through the installation a search box comes up
and it is trying to search for autoplay this goes on for
ages until I end up having to cancel it and the
installation as the installation will not proceed past
this point.
anyone have any ideas before i throw this thing out the
window??????????

I, too, am facing similar probs. Had to reformat & clean
install XP Pro. My Office 2000 Premium requires a prior
office version be installed first (Office 97), and my
Office 97 cd hunts as you described, never opening. Using
Run command is not successful either.
