Installation question -linked table manager

Laurel

I have an application running on 4 different computers at a school. One of
them shows "Can't start wizard" when I try to run the linked table manager.
Then it asks if I want to install it from Disc2 of Microsoft Office (I think
it was MS Office - definitely not "Access".) I assume I should re-install
something, but I don't know what to do to be sure I fix the problem. I'm
not even sure I can re-install Office without a lot of beureaucratic
difficulties. It's running Access 2000, but I may have to re-install Access
2003.

Can someone help? Please be as specific as possible, as I have to travel
to the school and have no access to the Newsgroup when I'm there.

TIA
LAS

Laurel,
The Linked manager has to be requested at install time. I think it's called
"Additional Wizards".
You should be able to to just install that portion with the install disk.
Be aware that there is a problem with Linked manager functioning properly in 2003 when
running other versions of Access on the same machine. On my system, running 2000 works
just fine... but when I return to 2003 the Linked Table amanger comes up all blank in the
linked tables dialog box.
I have a document (Word) on my website that documents the solution (aka workaround).
It's in Access Tips/Linked Table Manager Fix.
