installation question

Hi: Can someone tell me if I need to uninstall Word 2000 to install the 2002
version in Win XP Home ED? Or can I just install over it. The 2002 version
came in the Works suite 2002. Thanks. Josie

Hi Josie,

If Word 2002 came as part of Works Suite did it also come installed on
another computer? If it did then you will not be able to install it on
any other computer. OEM versions are licensed only to the computer it
was installed on.

If this isn't the case then you don't have to uninstall Word 2000.
Word 2002 can either be installed over it or if you change the default
installation folder you can opt to keep Word 2000 installed and have
both.

Additionally, Word/Office doesn't come with the operating system. Word
2002 can be installed on any version of Windows starting with Windows
98.
