installation source has been corrupted

Hello
I am having serious problems with this. I need excel for a very
important program for my work. I need it for the the vba and macro
abilities.

Every time I try to install Office 2003 on my laptop, when it gets to
enter the key, the message pops up saying "installation cannot
continue, installation source is corrupt. I thought it was my cdrom,
but not, other cd's play and other programs will set up from cd.

The original reason I contacted support was that the installation on my
computer was trying to install every time I opened up Word or Excel
and it would not update either. So at a loss what to do, i emailed
support.
..
I contacted microsoft support and did all the tech said to do. Then I
got a message to call for a new cd.
Which I did and got. That one will not install either. Same situation.
Same message.

I have even gone so far as to format. This was after I had researched
every setting and file on my computer. It still will not setup.
In fact this is getiing really ridiculous.

I have been researching this for a couple of days now, and have decided
to post this on here.

I surely hope someone can let me know what is wrong.

Hello again

Guess what? I have found the answers I think, After reading quite a
bit more about this situation on other posts. I followed a lot of the
advice given. Spent quite a bit of time in Microsoft.com knowledge base
and downloaded quite a few files. The most important one I believe was
the Microsoft Script 5.1? file. Installed all and wonder of wonders, my
cd worked and Microsoft Office 11 is now completely installed and
updated and working on my laptop. So thank you to all who have
researched this problem and given answers to the best of their
abilities.

On other note on this. When you are doing clean up and removing old
files and such please do not remove any form or file of Microsoft
Office. You just never know when you will need a backup.

Thank you
Sandy
