I got my Office software package as part of my purchased software with my Hewlett Packard notebook. When I type the code that is listed to register the product, it says the code is invalid. HP says it is your fault and they refuse to do anything. I write to you and call you and you say it is there problem. Who is right? I have been fighting this battle since last April (2003!). If I don't get an honest reply for once, I'll just switch to Linux since they are growing pretty fast anyway. I also don't like the hoops you make people jump through just to get a question answered.

If you purchased your Office program from the Computer Manufacturer - you
will need to get support from them. Microsoft does not support OEM
packages.

Also, please note that this is a peer-to-peer group, not Microsoft.

HP should honor your oem version product key code. We have always recieved good response from them on software. I f we did not recieve a satisfactory response from the first person we talked to, we kindly ask for a supervisor
As far a Linux, most companies offer free support for 60 days, Mandrake, Red Hat, Suse, etc... then your on your own or their user groups.
