Installation

My operating system Windows XP crashed. To fix the problem, I reformatted my hard drive and installed Windows 2000. I have a Toshiba Satellite and the system is working like a charm.

I'm now trying to install Office 97 Standard edition (it is not an upgrade). When I try to install, its saying this is an upgrade.
This is not the case. I have installed this software on 3 different computers that I have owned and never had this problem. And, Office did not exist on those computers.

Any help in correcting this install bug would be helpful. I don't want to buy another version of office just because Microsoft would prefer me too!

You don't have to buy Microsoft Office just to work with Microsoft
Office files.

An estimated 16 million+ people have installed OpenOffice. It's now
used by several Government Agencies including NASA. And it can access
all your microsoft files.

I personally uninstalled Office 2003 last month because I wasn't using
it any longer after installing OpenOffice.

You can get it here http://on-disk.com/product_info.php?products_id=29
on a CD for $3.00

It also works on virtually every type of computer known to man.
