As a student at Wayne State University I purchased Microsoft Office XP
Standard edition for Students and Teachers. I had first installed the
product on my CBW (Computer Builder's Warehouse) Leviation gaming PC. The
computer had a Raid hard-drive that linked two 80 gig drives. One of the
hard drives went bad, and now none of my applications work. The computer
will no longer turn on. I plan to fix the computer that I initially
installed the software on, but hoped that, given that I paid for the license,
I could install my CD's on my lap top and use it from there. In addition,
given that the hard drive went bad I do not see how I would be able to
install the software on the same PC even if I do have it fixed. All I am
able to do now is install the temporary version. I need to know how to
unregister my old copy from a computer that doesn't even turn on? Or
register my new copy on a computer that is not the fist computer the software
was installed on. I could down load a bootleg copy from an internet site,
and at this point it would probably be easier, but as they say... no good
deed goes unpunished.
