Installed new HD and office programs will not open

Installed new hard drive and coppied everything from old drive. Windows works
fine as do all other programs except Office programs. I have Office home 2007
and when I start Windows I get the Please wait shile setup prepares the
necessary files. Then it starts trying to load windows installer and after a
couple of minutes I get "An error occured and this feature is no longer
functioning properly. Please run setup and select repair to restore this
application."

I try to run setup and I get "An error occured during the installation and
setup was unable to complete.

Any ideas where to go next. I am usually good on PCs but this one has me
lost....

How exactly did you copy everything from the old drive? I have cloned
system partitions using Norton Ghost and never seen anything like this.

You may need to refer to this, apart from completely remove it also details
removing 'instaler'

I hooked the drive up as a second drive mechanically, then ran the data
lifeguard tools to create the disk as a new boot disk and it automatically
copied everything from the old disk to the new. I then removed the old disk
and everything works except for Office.

This may be part of my problem. When I follow the instructions,(just looking
not uninstalling) I type installer into run and the resulting installer foler
is empty. I think later I will hook up my old harddrive and look into this
folder and copy any info that may be in there. Not sure why it was not copied
over???

Thanks for your help. This was the problem. It did not copy the installer
folder. I copied all the files in the old installer folder and moved to the
new hard drive installer folder. Now everything works fine!!!

Again Thanks, your response helped me move in the right direction.
