Installed SP3, lost recognition of all my Outlook data

I just installed SP3. Word and Excel seem to work fine. Went to look at email
and Outlook popped up with startup wizard. Off to the side was a panel that
indicated it was migrating information but that never occurred. The only way
to proceed was to setup email accounts again. All past email and address data
are gone.

Why did the data not migrate???????

Locate your .pst file and open it in Outlook. Your data will all be there.

Thank you, Milly

After much searching at the time, I did manage to find the old outlook files
and archives. It took me awhile to figure out how to recover my contacts. So,
I have two sets of email folders. I suppose I can delete the new set (as I
deleted the empty contacts list).

While it might seem a trivial exercise to those intimately familiar with the
product, requiring a user to start over and try to figure out how to get back
to where they were is probably not the best way to update a product.

Outlook required me to re-enter 5 email accounts for the three services
subscribed to and then try to figure out how to get the data back. Maybe
there was a shortcut, but it wasn't obvious at the time.
