I have found other posts asking for a solution to this issue so I know this
is not a unique issue.
CL View can't display Help
CL View cannot install the necessary files due to Windows Installer error 33.
The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a
portion of the file.

I have tried repair through CD, "change" through add & remove programs, and
diagnose through Access & Word Options Diagnose setup. I also updated Net
Framework.
After running microsoft office diagnostics, when I open an application I get
this message "Office application version does not match" Oh, and when I ran
the diagnositic, it said it needed to connect to the internet for further
information, but could not find an internet connection - but I was connected.
What a mess!
I called Microsoft and opened a case. The first tech advisor, Prakash V,
stopped helping me because he thought it was taking too long for the CD
repair to finish. Said he would call back in 15 minutes, then passed me off
on another tech because he had begun to help another customer. He said that
he checked the call volume and it was low so I would not have to wait on line
- this was not true. Also, the next tech, Satyan, hung up on me because I
said I did not want to uninstall and reinstall the program. I had asked him
to find the install log so he could find out why the first installation
failed.
This does not speak very well of Microsoft and their tech help. Do they do
better when it is not under the 90 day FREE initial install period?
