"InstallerVISE has unexpectedly quit" message when I tried to install Value Pack on Excel (Mac)

I keep on getting this error message when I click on the Value Pack
Installer from the Mac Office v.X, student edition 2000, Excel folder.
I never had to download this folder until now and it seems to be
corrupted, even through I'm trying to download this from a CD. Is
there a replacement for InstallerVISE for this Excel "add-in" or
another way to get around his problem? Or is it best just to upgrade
to Mac Office 2004?

What happens when you run the full Office installer from the same CD on the
same machine? Do you get the "unexpectedly quit" message there too?

What happens when you click a different folder in the Value Pack installer?
