Installing 2003 on websites other than IIS default

Hi all,

Ive installed a small scale deployment of sharepoint and project server as
per microsofts guidlines, but created on a website other than default.

If I try and access configure microsoft project server from the app server
its installed on, i get an error of "the page cannot e found"

Microoft TIDS tells me that ive probebly installed project before ive
installed WSS (i havnt) and to exclude /projectserver from WSS managed paths.
I tried this but it hasnt worked.

Can anyone help!

Thanks in advance

Adrian:

Are you entering the port number as part of the URL? What port did you put
it on?

Hi Gary,

I have just tried the random port in the url, port 1241. Still no joy

Ive think i may have broken my web servers from the start, which may be the
cause of the problem. when I created them I didnt give them a different
directory on c:\ to store their contents, should i have done???

i.e. put the new webserver directories in anything other than
c:\inetpub\wwwroot

Any thoughts

Thanks in advnace

Why a random port? If you have your default website running, chances are
it's using port 80. If you added a website for Project Server, then it would
require a port assignment if the default is using 80. There's not much
anyone can do to help, if you can't identify where you installed the
application.
