Installing Access 2003 crashes Scheduled Tasks???

I installed Access 2003 on a Panasonic CF-50 laptop with XP Professional and
Office 10 environment (2002 versions) and now Norton Antivirus 2004
Professional won't auto LiveUpdate. Running through Symantec's trouble tree
leads to the determination that Scheduled Tasks isn't working (i.e., you set
the calculator to boot up at log-in and it doesn't). Not a major issue at
this point, as I did make a system restore point before the install and can
always go back, but would rather be able to use the program. One further
note: Office Update has installed components of both Office 10 and Office
2003.

As a follow-up: Uninstalling and reinstalling the Norton AV software did not
solve the problem. (It did extend my virus definitions subscription for a
year, tho ;<) ) Another thing I've noticed is that the virus scans are still
running once a week, and I think that they are triggered by the scheduled
tasks manager... Go figure. I've played around with the log-in setup, since
the task manager said that the calculator wasn't launching at startup due to
the fact that I wasn't entering a password, but this hasn't made a difference.
