installing Access 2003

I have installed Access as part of Office 2003 Pro. on a
new XP machine. Word and Excel are ok but Access logs out
to the Windows screen if F1 is pressed for help, or the
programme hangs if the Help button is used. Similarly
the "Find" button logs out to the Windows screen. I have
tried reinstalling. Any thoughts welcome.
