Installing Access97 on Windows XP Home edition system

I have a new computer with Windows Xp home edition and I
am trying to install Access97 but get the message that it
cannot locate any qualifying products. I have Office
2003, MS Works, etc., and have tried pointing to these
directories manually, but it still will not install. Can
anyone help me with this installation??
Thanks!!

Sounds like your version of A97 is an upgrade. It will need an older
version of Access, such as A2.0 or A95 or a competitive product.

On the web page

the qualifying software is listed. I have MS Works (2003)
and MS Office (2003), so why don't these work?

The problem though is that A97 has no idea how to detect MS Works 2003
as it was built long before 2003. If you had a version of MS Works
from 1996 or earlier no problem.
