Installing an additional SharePoint FE with Project

Hi,

I'm a SharePoint and Project Server novice and I need to add another
SharePoint server to the farm as a front end machine so we can load
balance it with NLB. As I understand it, all software should be
installed and configured the same on both machines.

I am in the process of installing Project Server 2007 on the new
machine. However, I cannot choose for an advanced or basic
installation, it just starts running.

Do I need to add the SharePoint server to the farm first before I can
install Project Server (which means I have to quiescene the farm?)

You will need to add this server to the farm during the installation of PS,
it's the first decision you need to make in the install wizard new or
existing farm.

Before you do that, you will need to configure NLB across the two servers
and add an AAM for the NLB network name, which will mean stopping the
services on the existing server.
